Back in 08 i made an attempt at recreating the dromites, now you will be able to see it. Its amazing how wide is the margin of quality compared to the Synad.

"Dromites have do body hair" The idea behind them sounds cool, but I just want to go in and spell check the shit out of it! (Note: While this may have existed in another addition, I have only been playing D&D since 4E[I played 3.5E 2 times before deciding I hated it] so any race that was around before is brand new to me)
Upon further inspection, I have come to a more complete conclusion. While I like the idea of an insect humanoid, I am a little skeptical on the energy rays. Does not seem to fit the idea I had in mind. Maybe I'm odd, but when I think hives and a single female queen, I think ants and bees. Not elementally infused halflings with an itchy skin condition. And when I saw the paragon path, I just could not see why they were 'teleporting'. They are shooting beams of fire at people, but the paragon path is straying away from that aspect, and goes with a more philisophical view on time and space. Seems more like a general paragon path than one suited for this race. And when the have to use a light blade, that makes me think of rogue right away. With the image given, I feel like they are cross classed into a wizard. Maybe I am just looking at the race all wrong, because from the description you gave, I did not get a trasdimentional being that shoots fire, teleports and slows time.
Ive always been into psionics and Dromites were one of my favorite psionic races (right alongside with the elan and the half-giant, which is now the goliath in 4e). The way you see them in my pdf is exactly the portrayal they gave to the race in 3e, the had an energy ray, they teleported, and they had a prestige class called the elocator, all i did was convert... personally i dont like my conversion much but i posted it anyways for those who may be looking for a dromite conversion.
On an unrelated matter; i had a dream about a halfling alchemist, he was fighting a bunch of monsters tossing flasks, drinking some with random effects, he shot lightning from his mouth, one arm became a tentacle, he tossed a flask that made enemies laugh and so on. What do you think of an alchemist class? ive been pondering the idea for quite some time now...
I was literaly JUST coming on here right now to tell you I thought an Alchemist would be wicked! Not a big fan of how Pathfinder handled the class, so a 4E one would be really cool. I've got 3 main ideas for how to do this. First off, Alch is really similar in it's goal to the Artificer. So idea one being make a new class, idea two would be just make an advanced build for the Artificer. My third idea is absolutely insane, but sounds epic. What if the Alchemist was more akin to Ed from Full Metal Alchemist? What if in mid battle he could transmute the area around him using only his hands? So idea 3 would be a sorcerer. Uses the glove? implement and builds potions while out of combat, but when they go into combat they have spells they can do without making 30 pots the night before.
The artificer is more of a tinkerer who dabbles into alchemy more than other classes, but its not even a 60% alchemist. I am going with option 2 because option 3 is something ive slowly been working on for a fullmetal alchemist campaign setting using 4e rules. Ill post some of that soon.
